PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tito MC (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ahwal Mahtulak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think MC might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to La Raza V.3. Ahwal Mahtulak has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tito MC!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ahwal Mahtulak!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Dmitry Maklakov and Illya Tyunina.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MC pulls out of a head kick attempt.
MC stuffs the takedown.
Mahtulak shoots in but MC avoids the takedown attempt easily.
MC fails with an attempt to clinch.

MC feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Mahtulak wants to sweep here but MC controlling him for the moment.

Mahtulak is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

MC could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
MC wants to control but Mahtulak is having none of it.
MC is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
MC is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Mahtulak goes for an armbar but he's not got it… MC turns into him and now he's in Mahtulak's guard.

Mahtulak can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as MC controls the pace.

MC slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

MC is stalling in the full guard.
MC stands and throws Mahtulak's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

MC stands up.
The fight stays on the outside here - MC looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

MC looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
MC stalling.
Mahtulak is refusing to be controlled, as MC sits in half guard.

That's time! MC's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

MC drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
MC trying to control the position from guard on top but Mahtulak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
MC is pushing down on Mahtulak's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mahtulak is fighting to maintain full guard but MC has managed to sneak the leg through.

MC looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Mahtulak has picked MC up and slammed him! MC can't keep hold of the triangle and Mahtulak manages to pass to side control!
Mahtulak gets to mount! MC was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tito MC will probably get the nod.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and MC counters with a single leg into guard. Mahtulak didn't expect that.
Tito MC has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ahwal Mahtulak.

MC wants to control from the top but Mahtulak keeps moving.
Ahwal Mahtulak has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well MC has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
