The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mazivian moves into the clinch.
Mazivian wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Mazivian holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Maidana is trying to break the clinch but Mazivian has him pressed against the cage.

Maidana wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mazivian is looking for a takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mazivian throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Maidana blocks it with crossed arms.
Mazivian is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Maidana gets underhooks to prevent Mazivian's takedown attempt.

Maidana looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Mazivian is working for takedown but Maidana is calmly controlling the position for now.

Mazivian pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Maidana throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mazivian.
Mazivian tries to counter with a clinch but Maidana shakes him off and moves away.
Maidana thuds his right hand into Mazivian's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Maidana scores with a sloppy right hand. Mazivian should have avoided that one.
Mazivian walks into a left hand.
Mazivian throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Maidana was covering up waiting for the punch and Mazivian finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Maidana striking off his back but it's not causing Mazivian any problems.

Mazivian is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Mazivian stands up and waves to Maidana to follow him.
Maidana lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Mazivian has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mazivian darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Maidana has hold of Mazivian's hands but Mazivian slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mazivian is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Maidana is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
