The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Darkside.
Dieselnoi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Darkside moves away.
Dieselnoi looks for a takedown but Darkside sprawls well.

Darkside gets a takedown into half guard.
Dieselnoi tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Darkside manages to move to mount!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dieselnoi is trying to stand but he's just given Darkside his back.
What can Dieselnoi do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Darkside has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Dieselnoi has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Dieselnoi doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Darkside counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Darkside pulls Dieselnoi into guard.
Darkside has Dieselnoi pulled in close to control his posture.
Darkside has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Darkside's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Darkside had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dieselnoi defends it easily.

Darkside pulls Dieselnoi in close to his closed guard and prevents Dieselnoi from doing any damage or advancing position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Dieselnoi is looking to clinch but Darkside is avoiding it.
Dieselnoi fails in his attempt to clinch.
Dieselnoi doesn't manage to clinch there - Darkside circles away.
Dieselnoi lands with a hook. Darkside tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Darkside keeps the fight on the outside.
Darkside changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Darkside clinches with his opponent.
Dieselnoi looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Dieselnoi misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Darkside.
Dieselnoi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Darkside breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dieselnoi fails with the takedown
and Darkside counters with a flying knee that drops Dieselnoi ! Darkside dives in and finishes the fight with a flurry of strikes from the mount!
