Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bernard Acevedo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonathan Walker!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Acevedo dives in and scores a takedown into Walker's guard.
Acevedo is looking to work some ground and pound but Walker has wrist control.
Acevedo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Acevedo throws an elbow that misses. Walker uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Acevedo's guard. Nice move by Walker!

Acevedo is adopting a defensive guard.
Acevedo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Acevedo pulls Walker in close to prevent any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Acevedo wants to stand but Walker is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walker wants to stand but Acevedo is controlling his posture from full guard.
Walker stopping the sweep attempt from Acevedo.
Walker wants to get up but he can't break Acevedo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Walker looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Walker stops Acevedo from getting back to his feet.

Acevedo wants to control but Walker passes into side.
Acevedo prevents Walker from improving position.
Walker staying calm.
Acevedo wants to get back to his feet but Walker is dominant here and he's now got Acevedo's back!
Acevedo tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Walker looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Acevedo is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Acevedo is trying to escape the mount.
Acevedo is breathing heavily.

Walker looking to secure an arm triangle but Acevedo defends it well.
Walker content just to control the position here.
Acevedo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Walker on the ground.
Acevedo is in all sorts of trouble here.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Walker sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Acevedo trying desperately to get to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Acevedo tries to hold on but Walker pushes him away.
Acevedo can't escape the position.
Walker pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonathan Walker dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Walker misses with a head kick.
Acevedo half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Acevedo gets caught flat footed, as Walker shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Walker trying to stand up but can't free himself from Acevedo's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Acevedo wants to stand up but Walker is controlling him.
Acevedo wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Walker manages to pass to side control.

Walker wants to free his trapped foot but Acevedo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Acevedo wants to improve his position but Walker is controlling well.
Acevedo wants to control the action here but instead Walker manages to pass to full mount!
Acevedo wants to control but Walker is having none of it.
Acevedo is working to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Acevedo tries to hold on but Walker postures up.
Walker tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Acevedo tries to improve his position but Walker has taken his back! Walker has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Acevedo tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Walker pushes Acevedo away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
