And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Montgomery!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jonez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Montgomery gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Montgomery is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Montgomery darts in and clinches Jonez up against the cage.

Jonez is fighting off a takedown attempt but Montgomery is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jonez to the mat. Jonez regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Jonez has his foot on Montgomery's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Montgomery works his way back into a safe position though.

Montgomery drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Jonez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
