Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tupa Dufu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bessarion Alexius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dufu comes to the cage accompanied by Rock You Like A Hurricane. The crowd seem to be enjoying Alexius's choice of entrance music: A Country Boy Can Survive. Tupa Dufu had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexius uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dufu.
Alexius is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Dufu misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Alexius drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Dufu defends it well.
Alexius scores with a jab.
Alexius takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Dufu avoids the head kick by Alexius.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Alexius has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Alexius shoots for a double leg takedown but Dufu sprawls well. He's pushed Alexius's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Alexius darts in looking for a takedown but Dufu gets double underhooks and turns Alexius into the cage.

Dufu thuds his right hand into Alexius's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Dufu wants to clinch.
Dufu rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Alexius decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dufu's guard.
Dufu wants to get back to his feet but Alexius is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Alexius wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dufu keeps working.

Dufu gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Alexius to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Dufu is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Tupa Dufu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Alexius throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Dufu tests Alexius's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Dufu closes the distance and pushes Alexius back into the cage.
Alexius has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Dufu after a bit of a struggle.
Tupa Dufu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bessarion Alexius.

Dufu lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Alexius goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

and Alexius counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dufu won't be happy with that.

Dufu tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

After winning the bout, Bessarion Alexius thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
