Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cory Tan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Galvao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tan comes to the cage accompanied by Tapau. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cory Tan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julio Galvao!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Galvao.
Galvao avoids the body shot from Tan.
Galvao wants to counter with a clinch but Tan pushes him away.
Galvao fails with the takedown.
Galvao blocks a jab.
Galvao tries to clinch up but Tan circles away and keeps his distance.
Tan slips under a jab from Galvao.
It looked like Tan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Galvao ducks under a wild hook from Tan.
Galvao changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
We've been told by Tan's head coaches at Pro Pain Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Galvao works the jab nicely.
Galvao avoids the body shot from Tan.
Galvao tries to counter with a clinch but Tan shakes him off and moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tan takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Tan jabs Galvao right on the nose. Galvao blinks but takes it well.
Galvao throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Tan counter with a right hand.

Galvao moves into the clinch.
Galvao jumps guard but Tan turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Galvao's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Galvao takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Galvao stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Galvao jumps into guard, dragging Tan to the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Galvao has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Tan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Galvao is looking to cinch up a triangle. Tan throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Galvao's body to avoid the submission. Galvao has instead reached around Tan's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Galvao arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

After winning the bout, Julio Galvao thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
