Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marco Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Stevenson's choice of entrance music: Higher Ground - Red Hot Chili Peppers. Joseph Stevenson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joseph Stevenson!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Santos gets caught flat footed, as Stevenson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Stevenson trying to control but Santos is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stevenson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santos swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Santos will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Stevenson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Stevenson postures up and lands a big shot to Santos's brow.
Stevenson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Santos is keeping the position for now.

Santos has his foot on Stevenson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stevenson works his way back into a safe position though.

Stevenson wants to control from the top but Santos keeps moving.

Santos is working an open guard so Stevenson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Stevenson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Santos, up you get!
Santos is breathing heavily.
Santos lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Santos tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stevenson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Stevenson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Stevenson controlling the pace.
Stevenson works his foot free and advances to mount.

Stevenson is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Stevenson extends the arm and Santos is forced to tap!
