Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wendell Cunningham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Davis is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wendell Cunningham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Davis!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cunningham is fending him off so far but Davis persists. Nope, Cunningham circles away and we're back to standing.
Cunningham goes for a double leg but Davis avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Davis continues to drive forward.
Jack Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Davis has closed the distance and engaged Cunningham in a clinch.
Cunningham jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Davis walks away with a smile on his face. Cunningham gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Davis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Davis looks for a takedown but Cunningham sprawls well.
Wendell Cunningham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Davis.
Davis misses with a body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davis shoots in looking for a takedown but Cunningham manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Davis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Davis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cunningham is controlling him.

Davis gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Davis throws the left hand but Cunningham avoids the punch easily.
Cunningham really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

letting Davis counter with a right hand.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Davis.

Davis stands up and beckons Cunningham to his feet.
Davis shoots in and drives through. Cunningham sprawls well.
Cunningham shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Davis as he jumps to the side.
A head kick misses from Davis.
Davis closes the distance and clinches up with Cunningham, looking for a takedown. Davis pushes Cunningham against the cage but Cunningham circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Cunningham tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Davis manages to circle out of the way.
Davis lands a jab to Cunningham's midsection.

Cunningham moves into range and clinches up with Davis.
Cunningham fails to pull guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Davis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cunningham fails in his attempt to clinch.

Cunningham closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Cunningham is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Davis to keep the fight standing.

Cunningham will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Davis holds on and takes a little breather.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Davis dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


No luck for Davis with that takedown attempt.
Davis throws a push kick but Cunningham slaps the foot to one side.
Davis shoots in for a double leg but Cunningham sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Cunningham is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Davis.
Cunningham tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Davis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Davis throws a looping overhand right but Cunningham ducks down to avoid it.

Cunningham closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Davis's guard.

Davis manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Cunningham drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Davis manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cunningham has Davis in his guard.

Davis slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Davis stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Davis has managed to clinch.

Davis jumps into guard, dragging Cunningham to the mat.

Jack Davis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

As Davis tries to get set, Cunningham tries to push him back and clinch up but Davis manages to avoid the attempt.
Davis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Cunningham is trying hard to land a takedown here. Davis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Cunningham slaps away a takedown attempt from Davis, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Davis has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Cunningham pulls guard effortlessly.
Cunningham wants to sweep here but Davis controlling him for the moment.
Davis throws a big elbow that misses.

Cunningham is looking to stand back up but Davis counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Cunningham.
Davis is keen to just control but Cunningham is a slippery customer.

Davis wants to work for an arm triangle but Cunningham is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Davis seems to be working for a kimura but Cunningham defends the submission attempt.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Cunningham darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Wendell Cunningham has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jack Davis is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Cunningham decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

I would just about give that final round to Jack Davis.
Well Davis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
