Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ali Hassan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Del Amitri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Del Amitri will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Amitri closes the distance and pushes Hassan back into the cage.

Amitri wants the takedown. Hassan is fighting it off but Amitri persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hassan's guard against the cage.

Hassan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Amitri is aware though and is defending well.
Hassan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hassan wants to sweep but no luck.

Amitri is looking to pass into half guard but Hassan pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Hassan is in guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hassan tries to move to mount but Amitri blocks the move with his legs.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hassan has managed to clinch.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hassan creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Amitri utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hassan wants to stand but Amitri is controlling his posture from full guard.

Amitri throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hassan escapes and throws Amitri's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The ground and pound from Hassan seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Amitri must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Hassan throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hassan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Amitri sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hassan closes the distance and clinches up with Amitri, looking for a takedown. Hassan pushes Amitri against the cage but Amitri circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ali Hassan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Amitri is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Amitri goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Hassan turns into him and now he's in Amitri's guard.

Amitri is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hassan defends well.

Hassan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Amitri looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Amitri looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Amitri!

Amitri is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hassan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Hassan tries to close the distance and clinch but Amitri swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Amitri has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Amitri stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hassan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Amitri drops back looking for a leg! Hassan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hassan manages to kick Amitri off! Amitri jumps back into Hassan's guard.

Well Amitri has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
