The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hovi cracks a nice hook into Massey's ribs.
The fighters circle momentarily. Massey darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
We've been told by Massey's head coaches at Thomas Top Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A nice inside leg kick there by Hovi. That's going to slow Massey down.
Seppo Hovi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Massey scores with a body shot.
Massey misses the shot to the body.
Massey looks to land a right hand but Hovi moved out of range.
Hovi swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Hovi takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Hovi throws a leg kick which misses Massey's front leg but catches the back leg as Massey tries to avoid it.
Hovi misses with a low kick.
Massey was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Hovi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Massey was well out of range. Poor timing from Hovi.
Hovi looks to land a right hand but Massey moved out of range.
Massey is looking to counter punch.
Hovi takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

It looks like Seppo Hovi has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Massey bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hovi's head backwards.
Massey scores with a nice strike.
Massey throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hovi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hovi avoids a punch combination nicely.

Hovi throws a big shot that misses.
Hovi throws out a loose jab but Massey uses good head movement to avoid it.
Massey connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hovi's hands.
Hovi closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Massey misses with a body punch
and Hovi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Massey thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hovi misses with a wild body shot.
Good leg kick by Massey there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Hovi moves out of range of the body kick from Massey.
Massey buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hovi throws a good cross that connects.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hovi, right into the meat.
Massey looks to score with a jab to the body but Hovi is just out of range.

Massey wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Massey connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Massey Throws a clean left jab. Massey Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Hovi's chin! Hovi crumbles to the ground and Massey follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Massey!
