PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kell Bolt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mio Zioa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bolt closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Zioa's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bolt drops back looking for a leg! Zioa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Zioa manages to kick Bolt off! Bolt jumps back into Zioa's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bolt cracks Zioa with a solid left hand.
Zioa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Zioa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Zioa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bolt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Zioa wants to sweep here but Bolt controlling him for the moment.

Zioa is pulling down on Bolt's head. It's preventing any offense from Bolt, at least for the moment.

Bolt throws an elbow that misses. Zioa uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bolt's guard. Nice move by Zioa!

Bolt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Zioa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Zioa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Zioa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bolt defends it well.

Zioa seems to be working for a kimura but Bolt defends the submission attempt.
Bolt moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Bolt is looking to cinch up a triangle. Zioa throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Bolt's body to avoid the submission. Bolt has instead reached around Zioa's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Bolt arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
