Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stephan Hicks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Davis!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis tries to land a front kick but Hicks steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Davis fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Davis shoots in but no luck this time.
Davis is looking to land body kicks.
Hicks is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Davis.
Nice sprawl there from Hicks as Davis shoots in.
Hicks looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Stephan Hicks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Davis.
Hicks tries for a takedown but Davis circles away easily

and Davis counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Davis.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hicks gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Hicks could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Davis tries to kick Hicks off but Hicks keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Davis has his hands clasped together around Hicks's back. He's all about the action.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hicks lands a nice short elbow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Davis wants to get back to full guard.
Hicks is nestled in close to Davis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Hicks has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hicks lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Hicks lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Hicks is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Hicks is trying for a kimura here. Davis looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Hicks wins by kimura!
