The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strap is looking to slow Jackon down with leg kicks.
Jackon shoots in for a double leg but Strap sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Jackon shoots in and bounces Strap off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jackon prevents Strap from getting back to his feet.
Jackon is looking to work some ground and pound but Strap has wrist control.

Jackon throws a strike but Strap rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Strap stands up from Jackon's guard - Strap perhaps looking for a knockout.
A jab-cross combination lands for Strap and sends Jackon crashing to the mat! Strap follows him down to the mat - Jackon regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

It looks like Tyson Jackon has been cut.

Strap has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Jackon works to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jackon has his foot on Strap's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Strap works his way back into a safe position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jackon drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Strap manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jackon has Strap in his guard.

Strap fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jackon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

The fight stays on the outside here - Strap looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Strap takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Jackon has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Strap avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tyson Jackon.
