Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chad Oneil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Reigns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chad Oneil has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Chad Oneil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roman Reigns!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Eliza Hachem and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reigns displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Oneil.

Reigns dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Reigns tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Oneil swivels and escapes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reigns rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Oneil moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Reigns tries to keep at a distance but Oneil has taken the fight into the clinch.
Oneil is struggling to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Reigns's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Reigns rushes Oneil and presses him up against the cage.

Reigns is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Oneil can't fight it off and eventually Reigns manages to take the fight to the floor. Oneil looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Oneil not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Reigns is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
It looks like Reigns might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Oneil knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reigns on the ground.
Oneil wants to stand up but Reigns is controlling him.
Reigns postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Oneil scrambles and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Oneil gets caught flat footed, as Reigns shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Oneil will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Reigns stands and steps away. Oneil gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Reigns clinches with his opponent.
Reigns lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Reigns slowing the pace effectively.
Come on Oneil - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Oneil tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Reigns just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chad Oneil. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Reigns lands a takedown into guard.

Reigns avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Reigns content to stall in guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oneil is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Oneil really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Reigns is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Reigns tries to free his leg and advance position but Oneil is retaining full guard.
Oneil is wriggling around but Reigns manages to pass to half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Still in half guard, Reigns seems content to control.
Reigns throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Reigns slows the pace down in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reigns passes to side control.

Reigns has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Reigns closes the distance and clinches.

Reigns manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Oneil accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roman Reigns dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Oneil slaps away a takedown attempt from Reigns, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Reigns fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Oneil throws a big counter combination but Reigns scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Reigns has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Reigns scores with a takedown into Oneil's guard.
Reigns is standing up over Oneil. Oneil looks to escape but Reigns dives into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Oneil is working to avoid the ground and pound but Reigns connects with a decent elbow.
Oneil wants to get back to his feet but Reigns drags him back down.
Reigns controlling the position from side mount.

Oneil wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Reigns lands a few punches from side control.

Reigns decides to stand back up.
Reigns closes this distance looking for a takedown but Oneil circles away.
Oneil appears to be looking for a big counter.
Chad Oneil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roman Reigns.

Reigns fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Oneil, pushing him back against the cage.
Reigns digs a right hand into Oneil's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Oneil's gas tank.

Reigns's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Reigns.
Oneil is trying to get back to half guard.

Reigns happy to just control the position for now.

Reigns stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Nice body punch from Reigns.

Reigns moves into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Reigns blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Oneil tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Reigns is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Oneil throws a head punch that misses.

Reigns pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Reigns lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


Oneil is rocked!


It looks like Chad Oneil has been cut.
OH! Oneil has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Reigns smells blood and charges in for the finish! Reigns unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Oneil sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Roman Reigns!
