The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hill drives through with a takedown into Donovan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Donovan being controlled here, momentarily.

Donovan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hill doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hill manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Donovan wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hill manages to pass to side control.
Donovan is doing well to control the position and prevent Hill from advancing to side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Donovan is looking to improve his position.
Donovan keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Donovan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hill is working away from the top position though.

Donovan slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Hill drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Donovan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hill has Donovan in his guard.

Donovan throws a big elbow that misses.

Donovan would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Donovan with a flurry of punches that miss.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hill not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Dylan Hill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hill is looking to clinch but Donovan is avoiding it.
Hill throws a sloppy head kick and Donovan moves out of range easily.

Hill moves into the clinch.
Donovan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hill is stalling here.
Hill trying to stall but Donovan improves his position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Hill decides to pull guard.
Hill is striking from the bottom but Donovan uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Donovan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hill trying to get back to full guard but Donovan takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Donovan manages to capitalize on a mistake by Hill to take his back!

Donovan has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Donovan is cranking Hill's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Hill! He's tightened the choke and Hill is tapping out!
