Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paddy McPhail (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Branko Teixeira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go!Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paddy McPhail!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Branko Teixeira!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McPhail throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Teixeira counters with a takedown into side control.

Teixeira working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Teixeira is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McPhail knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Teixeira looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
McPhail is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.

Teixeira tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Teixeira has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Teixeira goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, McPhail rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Teixeira's guard! Nice work there by McPhail!

Teixeira looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Teixeira working for a triangle but McPhail defends it easily.
McPhail knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Teixeira on the ground.

McPhail is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

McPhail slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Teixeira is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McPhail is aware though and is defending well.

McPhail stays in close to Teixeira's body and controls the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McPhail looking to pass the guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Teixeira can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McPhail controls the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Branko Teixeira dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


McPhail lands a nice hook to Teixeira's body. Teixeira takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
McPhail looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
McPhail lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

McPhail sends Teixeira crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! McPhail is motioning to the referee to let Teixeira up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


Teixeira is rocked!


It looks like Branko Teixeira has been cut.
McPhail closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Teixeira out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Paddy McPhail!
In his post fight interview, Paddy McPhail started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
Branko Teixeira spoke after the fight, saying 'I would like to have a rematch because I was not at my full potential tonight. '.
