Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Clayton Channings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Castor Rollins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clayton Channings!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Castor Rollins!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Channings lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rollins's sensitive parts.
Channings looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Rollins feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Channings's calf.
Rollins throws a leg kick which misses Channings's front leg but catches the back leg as Channings tries to avoid it.
Channings misses with a looping left.
Rollins throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Rollins blocks a head kick by Channings.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Channings!
Rollins fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Channings manages to avoid it.
A solid leg kick lands there for Channings.
The crowd cheers as Channings lands an impressive looking overhand right. Rollins doesn't seem phased though.

Channings cracks Rollins with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rollins buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Rollins's coach down at Cutthroat was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Rollins's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Rollins rushes Channings and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Channings is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rollins holds on and takes a little breather.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Channings trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Channings tries to free his leg and advance position but Rollins is retaining full guard.
Rollins is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Rollins lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Channings escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rollins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Channings looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rollins wants to control from the top but Channings keeps moving.
Channings tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Channings looking for a guillotine here but Rollins defends easily.
Channings has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Channings has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rollins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Channings controls Rollins momentarily but Rollins frees himself.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Channings working for a triangle but Rollins defends it easily.
Channings thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Rollins works over Channings with some ground and pound from guard.

Rollins won't allow Channings to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Clayton Channings will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Rollins shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Channings drops down looking for a counter takedown but Rollins sprawls and moves away.

Rollins throws a shot from downtown. Channings moves away and avoids it.
Rollins finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Rollins throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Channings stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rollins.

Channings feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Channings drops back looking for a leg! Rollins is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rollins manages to kick Channings off! Channings jumps back into Rollins's guard.

Channings swings around for an armbar but Rollins sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Channings's guard.
Rollins slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Channings is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Channings is looking for a kimura but Rollins is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Channings to get the leverage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Rollins is not content to let Channings control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Channings, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
