Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Claudio Andrews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Kirmayr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Claudio Andrews!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richard Kirmayr !
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kirmayr shoots in and bounces Andrews off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kirmayr prevents Andrews from getting back to his feet.
Andrews throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Kirmayr tries to free his leg and advance position but Andrews is retaining full guard.
Kirmayr being controlled here momentarily.
Andrews tries to strike from the bottom.
Andrews will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kirmayr scoring with punches to the head and body.
Kirmayr is looking to work some ground and pound but Andrews has wrist control.

Andrews manages to escape and get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kirmayr looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Kirmayr is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Andrews is aware though and is defending well.

Kirmayr throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Kirmayr is looking for a triangle here but Andrews uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
You can see the frustration on Kirmayr 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Andrews throws a strike aimed at the side of Kirmayr 's head but Kirmayr avoids it well.

Andrews is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kirmayr has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Kirmayr is looking to improve his position but Andrews isn't that keen on the idea.
Kirmayr wants to hold on but Andrews pushes him away.

Andrews goes for an armbar but Kirmayr turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Kirmayr .
Andrews wants to stand but Kirmayr is controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Andrews throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Andrews doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Kirmayr slips nicely into half guard.

Kirmayr decides to stand up.
Kirmayr is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Kirmayr closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Andrews to the mat! Andrews manages to get full guard.

Andrews wriggles free and stands up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kirmayr throws a sloppy head kick
and Andrews cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Andrews throws a head kick that misses.
Andrews lunges at Kirmayr with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kirmayr 's hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Claudio Andrews dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Kirmayr has closed the distance and engaged Andrews in a clinch.

Andrews ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Andrews no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Andrews is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kirmayr can do to turn this around?
Andrews throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Andrews is looking to stand up but Kirmayr isn't so interested in that idea.

Kirmayr gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Andrews gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kirmayr to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Andrews pushes Kirmayr off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Kirmayr drives through and clinches with Andrews against the cage.

Kirmayr breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Andrews misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kirmayr is looking for the big counter here.

Kirmayr darts in and clinches Andrews up against the cage.

Andrews gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Kirmayr has one foot on Andrews's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Kirmayr has managed to clinch.
Andrews has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Kirmayr breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Andrews gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kirmayr to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Kirmayr is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kirmayr shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Andrews's guard.

Andrews wants to stand up but Kirmayr is controlling him.

Andrews manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Kirmayr tightens his grip and picks Andrews up, before dumping him to the ground. Andrews manages to land in guard.
Kirmayr stands and throws Andrews's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kirmayr wants to stand but Andrews is controlling his arm.
Andrews is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Kirmayr trying to control the position but Andrews is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Andrews is pushing Kirmayr 's head away, looking to escape. Kirmayr manages to hold on to the position though.
Andrews has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kirmayr is looking to take a break and control but Andrews is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Andrews can't do much from the bottom here.
Andrews wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Andrews trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Andrews tries to keep at a distance but Kirmayr has taken the fight into the clinch.

Kirmayr manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Richard Kirmayr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kirmayr prevents Andrews from improving his position.
Kirmayr seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Andrews does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Andrews misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Andrews wants to control but Kirmayr is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kirmayr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Andrews has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Kirmayr is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Kirmayr stops a takedown attempt from Andrews.

Andrews pulls guard.
Andrews wants to stand but Kirmayr is controlling the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Andrews is on top in guard.


Andrews is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Andrews looking to sit in guard and control but Kirmayr gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kirmayr wants to pass the guard but Andrews is keeping the position.

I think Kirmayr has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
