Gable comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Bruce Springsteen - Born In The USA kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy shoots in for a double leg but Gable sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Murphy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gable.

Murphy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Murphy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gable keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Gable is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Murphy off. It looks like it's working - Murphy slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Gable displaying calm under pressure there.

Gable is keen to just control but Murphy is a slippery customer.

Gable decides to stand and escape the position.
Gable avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Murphy shoots in and bounces Gable off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gable fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Murphy looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Gable counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


It looks like Jimmy Barry Murphy has been cut.
Gable missing with a left hand there. Murphy was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Murphy avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gable throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Murphy sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Dan Gable showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
