Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeNardo throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Vurny counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Vurny throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as DeNardo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Vurny gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Vurny apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Dom DeNardo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vurny shoots in looking for a takedown. DeNardo tries to sprawl out of it but Vurny keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. DeNardo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

DeNardo misses with a looping right.

DeNardo takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
DeNardo throws a lazy right hand but Vurny sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Vurny dives in and grabs DeNardo's left leg, looking for a takedown. DeNardo pushes down on Vurny's head and hops out.
DeNardo swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Vurny gets cracked with a nice right hand there by DeNardo.
DeNardo closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Vurny quickly recovers to half guard.
DeNardo is keen to just control but Vurny is a slippery customer.
