The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice inside leg kick there by Hilfiger. That's going to slow Berg down.
Hilfiger dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Berg ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hilfiger moves away.
Berg just misses with a punch to the body.
Berg gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hilfiger.
A slapping leg kick lands for Hilfiger.
Berg throws a hook to the side of Hilfiger's head but Hilfiger sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Hilfiger fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Berg manages to avoid it.
Hilfiger looks to land a right hand but Berg moved out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Berg has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hilfiger creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Hilfiger dips a shoulder and cracks Berg with a mighty uppercut! Berg falls back against the cage and Hilfiger unloads with a barrage of strikes! Berg is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Hilfiger screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
