PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jesus Torres!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Johnny Bravo!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres misses with the body kick

and Bravo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Torres won't be happy with that.
Bravo prevents Torres from escaping the position.
Bravo is looking to take a break and control but Torres is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Torres wants to get back to his feet but Bravo drags him back down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bravo creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Torres sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Bravo is looking to take a break and control but Torres is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Torres gets tackled into the cage by Bravo. Bravo maintains the clinch.

Torres tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Torres tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bravo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Bravo ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bravo no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Torres got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bravo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Torres has managed to get both his arms back between Bravo's legs - danger averted.

Bravo is trying to control the position but Torres postures up.

Torres decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bravo, up you get!

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Bravo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Torres - the referee stops the clock and Bravo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Torres. Bravo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Bravo tries to keep at a distance but Torres has taken the fight into the clinch.
Bravo gets underhooks to prevent Torres's takedown attempt.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Torres jumps guard but Bravo stands there with Torres around his waist. Torres gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jesus Torres. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Torres is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Bravo pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Bravo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bravo throws a hook but Torres blocks it.

Torres drives through and clinches with Bravo against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Torres throws a half hearted mid kick.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jesus Torres dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Bravo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Torres throws a series of punches but Bravo avoids them all with ease.
Torres is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Torres scores with a head kick. Bravo tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Torres fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bravo shoots in looking for a takedown but Torres manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bravo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Torres appears to be looking for a big counter.
Torres throws a series of punches but Bravo moves out of range.
Bravo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Torres swivels and escapes.
Torres stuffs the takedown attempt from Bravo. Bravo gets slowly back to his feet.
As Bravo looks to move away, Torres throws a big counter combo but Bravo just gets out of the way.
Jesus Torres has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Bravo.

Bravo blocks an uppercut.
Bravo is breathing heavily.

Bravo tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Torres connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Torres lands a left and a right that send Bravo crashing to the mat, dazed. Torres thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

and Torres counters with an outside leg kick.
Bravo is still on wobbly legs! Can Torres finish him?
Torres throws an overhand right that drops Bravo like a sack of potatoes! Torres dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jesus Torres!
