PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wilbert Albert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Doyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Charlie Doyle was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Wilbert Albert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Charlie Doyle !
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Albert takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Doyle shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Albert's guard.

Albert is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Doyle presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Doyle manages to break the clinch.
Doyle throws a series of punches but Albert avoids them all with ease.
Albert lands a two punch combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Doyle lands a nice shot that snaps Albert's head back.

Doyle rushes Albert and presses him up against the cage.

Doyle pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Doyle keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Albert moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Albert throws a sloppy head kick and Doyle moves out of range easily.

Doyle gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Albert fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Albert drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Doyle gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Doyle prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wilbert Albert. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Doyle manages to break the clinch.
A head kick misses from Albert.
Albert takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Albert is breathing heavily.

Doyle drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Albert wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Doyle manages to pass to side control.

Doyle decides to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Doyle lands a nice looking body shot.
Doyle ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Albert stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Doyle .
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Doyle looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Doyle buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Doyle clinches up with Albert and pushes him back against the cage.

Albert breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Doyle circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Albert to the canvas! Albert doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Doyle keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
