Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cosmo Starstryder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Hughs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Starstryder fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hughs has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Starstryder displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hughs.
Starstryder was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Starstryder jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Starstryder avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Starstryder scores with a leg kick.
Starstryder throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Hughs to counter with a crisp jab.
Starstryder scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Hughs checks a low kick from Starstryder.
Hughs takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Hughs on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Starstryder delivers a nice body kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A thudding body kick lands there by Starstryder!

Hughs is rocked!

Starstryder throws a quick inside leg kick.
Hughs gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hughs is still on wobbly legs! Can Starstryder finish him?
Starstryder stuns Hughs with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Hughs seems to have recovered his senses.
Starstryder dips to his left and cracks Hughs with an uppercut!
Hughs walks straight into a right hand from Starstryder - that's dropped him! Starstryder jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Hughs from any more punishment! Hughs complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
