Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Super Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Gorden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Gorden's choice of entrance music: Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up . Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Super Phoenix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ben Gorden!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Phoenix tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gorden paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gorden wants to clinch.
Phoenix keeps the fight on the outside.
Gorden moves in looking to clinch but Phoenix pushes him off.
Phoenix throws a right hand that Gorden ducks under and follows up with a left that Gorden also avoids with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gorden misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Gorden changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Phoenix looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Gorden wants to control but Phoenix is keeping him busy.

Gorden is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Phoenix is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Gorden creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Phoenix sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Gorden misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Phoenix can't do much from the bottom here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Phoenix pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Phoenix throws a chopping leg kick but Gorden manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Phoenix looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Phoenix misses with a series of wild punches.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gorden is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Phoenix pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Gorden wants the takedown. Phoenix is fighting it off but Gorden persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Phoenix's guard against the cage.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Phoenix fails to land with a series of punches.
Phoenix really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gorden closes the distance and clinches.
Phoenix is trying to break free.
Phoenix gets underhooks to prevent Gorden's takedown attempt.
Gorden keeps control of Phoenix as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Gorden has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Phoenix is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Gorden has Phoenix pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Phoenix manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Phoenix wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gorden has him pressed against the cage.

Gorden has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Phoenix avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

That was a close second round but I would say that Super Phoenix will probably get the nod.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Gorden's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Gorden scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Phoenix is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Gorden somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.

Gorden tries to get the hooks in deep but Phoenix pushed the leg off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gorden lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
