Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reyes Morales!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darius Frank Jr!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Roberts and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Left hook, right uppercut from Frank Jr.


It looks like Reyes Morales has been cut.
Frank Jr misses with a double jab.
Frank Jr falls off balance throwing a combination

and Morales decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Frank Jr's guard.
Morales is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Morales could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Frank Jr is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Morales controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morales stands up and waves to Frank Jr to follow him.
Frank Jr misses with a wild combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Morales takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Frank Jr lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Morales manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Frank Jr on his heels. He'll look to pass Frank Jr's guard now, I'm sure.
Morales slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Morales throws a big elbow that misses.

Morales drops back looking for a leg! Frank Jr is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Frank Jr manages to kick Morales off! Morales jumps back into Frank Jr's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morales connects with a couple of short punches.
Morales controlling from the top position.
Morales works over Frank Jr with some ground and pound from guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Morales stops Frank Jr from standing up.
Morales content to stall in guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Frank Jr is wriggling around but Morales manages to pass to half guard.
Morales prevents Frank Jr from standing back up.

Morales gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Frank Jr rushes Morales and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Morales is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Frank Jr piles on the pressure and Morales crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Darius Frank Jr!
