The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Man does no damage.
Man fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Man keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Frankes swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Man counters with a one-two to the body.
Frankes fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Man throws a combination that misses
and Frankes counters with a three punch combo that has Man backing up. Man nods at Frankes to acknowledge the strikes.
Man lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Man misses with a double jab
and Frankes counters with a right hand to the body.

Frankes throws a right and a left that both miss.
Frankes tries to clinch but Man is having none of it.
Frankes shoots in but no luck this time.
Horrible takedown by Frankes or perhaps it was just good defense by Man which made him look bad.

Frankes wants to clinch up but Man keeps it at a distance.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Frankes moves in looking to clinch but Man pushes him off.

and Frankes makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Frankes counters with a left and a right that stings Man.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

and Frankes counters with a good low kick that Man was not able to check.

and Frankes counters with a series of strikes. Man will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Frankes counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Frankes tries to control but Man wriggling away.
Man is trying to stand up.
Frankes scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Man?
Man tries to buck Frankes off but he can't manage it.

Frankes looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Man wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Man can do anything to dispel that myth.
Man takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Frankes is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Frankes!
