Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Old Greg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Greg comes to the ring accompanied by Love Games. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Old Greg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matt Hawk!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk scores with a nice head shot.


It looks like Old Greg has been cut.
Hawk misses with a two punch combination.
Greg shoots for a takedown but Hawk saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
No joy there for Hawk, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Greg shoots in looking for a takedown. Hawk tries to sprawl out of it but Greg keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Hawk manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Hawk throws a series of punches but Greg avoids them all with ease.
Greg shoots in but no luck this time.

Greg shoots for a double leg takedown but Hawk sprawls well. He's pushed Greg's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Greg closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Greg avoids a punch combination nicely.

Greg closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Greg is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The referee warns Hawk that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Greg throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Greg is working for a guillotine from mount but Hawk frees his head quite easily.

You get the feeling that Hawk really doesn't like being in this position too much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Nice sprawl there from Hawk as Greg shoots in.
Hawk comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Greg fails with a takedown attempt.
Hawk moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Greg takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Greg has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Greg jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hawk is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hawk and Greg has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That was a close second round but I would say that Old Greg will probably get the nod.

Greg changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hawk looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Hawk is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Greg looks up at the clock and then as Hawk takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Greg smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Greg wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hawk, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Greg is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hawk has escaped the position, nice work there.

Greg wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hawk, who protects the arm well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Greg creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hawk sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Greg might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Greg lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hawk!
Hawk is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Greg, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
