Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Thiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Top Shottah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shottah changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thiago tries to avoid it but Shottah manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thiago to the ground. Thiago escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Shottah fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Top Shottah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shottah looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thiago is fending him off so far but Shottah persists. Nope, Thiago circles away and we're back to standing.
Paulo Thiago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Top Shottah.

Shottah tries to keep at a distance but Thiago has taken the fight into the clinch.

Shottah is fighting off a takedown attempt but Thiago is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Shottah to the mat. Shottah regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Thiago is pushing down on Shottah's leg trying to pass to half guard. Shottah is fighting to maintain full guard but Thiago has managed to sneak the leg through.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Thiago is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Shottah has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Shottah defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Thiago.

Thiago jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Shottah manages to avoid the submission attempt.
You can see the frustration on Shottah's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Shottah shoots in and drives through. Thiago sprawls well.

Shottah closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shottah lands in his opponent's guard.

Shottah wanted to stand there but Thiago had control of the position.

Horrible takedown by Shottah or perhaps it was just good defense by Thiago which made him look bad.
