The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holliday walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Barron checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Barron displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Holliday throws out the jab.

Barron rushes Holliday and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Barron really is a fat lump.
Barron putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Holliday in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Barron.

Holliday has Barron pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Holliday pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Barron tumbling to the mat - Holliday dives into Barron's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Holliday wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barron keeps working.

Holliday postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Barron is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Holliday, into his guard.

Holliday is pulling down on Barron's head. It's preventing any offense from Barron, at least for the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Barron accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Barron throws a strike but Holliday rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Holliday throws an elbow that misses. Barron uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Holliday's guard. Nice move by Barron!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Holliday can do anything to dispel that myth.

That was a close second round but I would say that Esteban Barron will probably get the nod.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Holliday is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Barron defends it well.
Barron wants to get back to his feet.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Holliday lands a nice short elbow.
Holliday wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barron keeps working.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Holliday. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Holliday seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Esteban Barron.
I think Barron has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
