The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ecik shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ecik frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ecik is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Rigsby has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Ecik is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rigsby can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Ecik swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Rigsby is now in Ecik's guard. A big mistake from Ecik there, giving up the dominant position!

Ecik is looking for a triangle but Rigsby pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rigsby slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Rigsby lands a couple of digs.

Rigsby gets to his feet. Ecik looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Rigsby leaves Ecik with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Ecik drives through with a takedown into Rigsby's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Wojciech Ecik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rigsby keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ecik throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rigsby's waist but Rigsby gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ecik off to one side.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rigsby throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ecik tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rigsby is in Ecik's guard.

Ecik looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Rigsby pushes past his half guard into mount!

Ecik tries to improve his position but instead Rigsby has taken his back!

Ecik manages to reverse the position and now he's in Rigsby's guard. Nice work there by Ecik.

Ecik thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Rigsby is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Ecik drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rigsby looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rigsby looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rigsby!

Ecik is trying to work for a sweep but Rigsby has mounted him!

Ecik is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rigsby pulls his head out easily.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rigsby in particular looking to stall.

Ecik has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rigsby can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ecik has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rigsby is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Ecik.
Steve Rigsby overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ecik sneaks back into half guard.

Ecik has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Rigsby. Oh but Ecik has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Rigsby goes limp - he's gone! Ecik jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
