Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frederick White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derrick King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Derrick King will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frederick White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derrick King!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

King rushes White and presses him up against the cage.
King controlling the action here for a moment.

King breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

King looking to score a takedown here. White is defending well but King drives through and ends up in White's guard.
White could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
White seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
White keeping moving, preventing King from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

White closes the distance and clinches up with King, looking for a takedown. White pushes King against the cage but King circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

King closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into White's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
King wants to control from the top but White keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

King wants to control from the top but White keeps moving.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
King stops White from standing up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
White displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as King throws out the jab.
White looks for a takedown but King sprawls well.

A momentary lapse in concentration from White enables King to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. White manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
White wants to get back to his feet but King is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

White has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

King moves into range and clinches up with White.
King pushes White back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

White breaks the clinch.

King closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. White did well to prevent King getting side control.

King thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed White's head.
White is looking for a sweep. King is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

White keeps control of the position for the meantime.
White wants to get back to his feet.
White tries to push off, looking to stand up, but King manages to move to mount!
King thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
White looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight.
White really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
White is squirming around, avoiding King's attempts to control the action.
White bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

A close second round but Derrick King will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



King is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in White's half guard.

King stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. White swivels though and keeps the full guard.

White is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

White is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
White landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
King tries to kick White off but White keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

White is working for a kimura but King is defending it quite comfortably.
King slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
King takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

King wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and White is now in half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
King wants to get back to his feet.

King looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and White pushes past his half guard into mount!

King is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Derrick King is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
