PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beleleu Petkovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Beleleu Petkovic was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Potter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Beleleu Petkovic!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Potter is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Petkovic's half guard.
Potter keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Potter winds up and cracks Petkovic with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Petkovic has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Potter is working away from the top position though.
Potter is taking a breather. Petkovic says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Petkovic tries to get to full guard but Potter has control of the leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Potter frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Potter trying to control but Petkovic is having none of it.
Petkovic working to try and regain half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Petkovic can do anything to dispel that myth.

Potter looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Potter with shots to the head and body - Petkovic looks very uncomfortable down there.

Potter has control of Petkovic's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Petkovic regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Potter looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Potter content just to control the position here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Potter seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Petkovic for as long as he can get away with.
Potter looking to finish Petkovic with some ground and pound. This is bad for Petkovic!
Potter is landing with some decent strikes but Petkovic is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Petkovic is trying desperately to improve position.

Potter quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Potter but it's paid off an Petkovic is forced to tap! Nice work by Potter.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Alexander Potter!
