The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferguson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Apple's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Apple pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Apple keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ferguson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Apple sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ferguson somewhat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Apple lands a big head kick that sends Ferguson tumbling to the mat! Apple takes a step backwards and waves Ferguson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Ferguson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Apple sprawls well. Apple wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ferguson gets slowly back to his feet.

Apple shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ferguson is trying to defend but Apple finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
