Harris is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bombs Away by Whole Wheat Bread. Ben Jones has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ben Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kyle Harris!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones dives in for a single leg takedown but Harris sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Nice takedown defense from Harris. No joy for Jones on that attempt.
Harris changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Harris rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage.
Jones tries to circle away but Harris has him pinned against the cage.
Jones blocks a body shot from Harris.

Harris breaks the clinch.
Jones fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ben Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Harris tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Harris dives in and scores a takedown into Jones's guard.
Harris pushes down on Jones's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Harris thows a huge punch but Jones dodges it nicely.
Jones is not content to let Harris control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harris thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jones's head.
Jones is staying active underneath Harris, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Harris should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Jones holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Harris seems to be working for a kimura but Jones defends the submission attempt.

Jones is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Harris scores with a couple of nice shots.

Harris drags the fight down to the ground.
Jones is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there.

Harris looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Jones stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Harris moves into the clinch.
Jones jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Harris walks away with a smile on his face. Jones gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Jones stuffs the takedown.
Jones's jab looks to have found its range, popping Harris under the eye.
Jones closes this distance looking for a takedown but Harris circles away.

Jones darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Harris pushes Jones off but Jones dives into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Harris sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
You can see the frustration on Harris's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones tries to pull guard but Harris holds him up against the cage and eventually Jones drops back down to his feet.
Harris is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Harris's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Harris moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off.

Harris tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch.

Harris escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Harris tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Harris somewhat.
Jones displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Harris.
Ben Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyle Harris.

Harris closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Harris will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Jones up against the cage.

A frustrated look appears on Jones's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Harris looking for a takedown.
Harris has Jones pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jones manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Harris is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Jones is trying to drag Harris to the mat but Harris just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Jones wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Harris breaks from the clinch.
A bone on bone clash there as Harris blocks the leg kick.
Harris shapes to counter with a head kick.

Jones moves into range and clinches up with Harris.
Jones lands with a short head shot on the inside.
A frustrated look appears on Jones's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Harris pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jones throws a combination. Harris tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Kyle Harris has been cut.
Harris's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jones connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Harris scrambles back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Harris defends it nicely.

Jones moves into the clinch.
Harris working hard to break the clinch.
Jones wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Harris has him pressed against the cage.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Harris's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jones steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Harris is out on his feet! Jones sets himself and nearly takes Harris's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
