Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Bones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Selassie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jon Bones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Victor Selassie!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bones misses with a looping right.
Selassie throws a jab when Bones was well out of range.
Selassie takes a swing at Bones's ribcage but misses.
Selassie tries to clinch there but Bones circles away.
Bones ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Bones moves forwards but Selassie connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Bones misses with a low kick.
Selassie connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.


It looks like Jon Bones has been cut.
Bones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Selassie circles away quickly and effectively.
Selassie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bones moves away.
Selassie walks into a left hand.


It looks like Victor Selassie has been cut.
Bones has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Selassie swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bones has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Bones there as he acknowledges the shot.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Bones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Selassie's guard.
Bones is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Selassie throws a hook but Bones avoids it easily.
Selassie does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Selassie looks to land a left hand but Bones moved out of range nicely.
Selassie scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bones manages to reverse the position and now he's in Selassie's guard. Nice work there by Bones.

Bones is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Bones is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Selassie is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Bones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Selassie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bones has managed to get both his arms back between Selassie's legs - danger averted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
