Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Preston Simon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georges Sp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Preston Simon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges Sp!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Sp misses.
Simon appears to be looking for a big counter.

Sp closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Simon bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Sp gets a double leg takedown into Simon's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Simon is pulling down on Sp's head to control his posture.

Simon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Sp wants to pass the guard but Simon is keeping the position.

Simon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Sp must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Simon has a closed guard, preventing Sp from standing up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Simon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sp defends well.
Sp trying to control but Simon is working from the bottom.

Simon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sp gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Sp wants to stand but Simon has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Simon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sp controls the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Sp misses with the combination.

Sp closes the distance and clinches.

Simon turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Simon creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Simon postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Sp is trying to control Simon's posture but Simon avoids it.
Sp looks winded!
Sp tries to improve position but can't.
Simon fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Sp takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Simon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sp takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Sp is looking to regain half guard here but Simon keeps moving and retains side control.
Simon lands some shots froms side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sp has clasped his hands together around Simon's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Sp is breathing heavily.
Sp not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Simon postures up and lands a big shot to Sp's brow.
Simon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Simon postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sp is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Simon, into his guard.

Simon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Simon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sp with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Simon is nestled in close to Sp, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Simon takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Simon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sp, who protects the arm well.

Simon cracks Sp with a big right hand but Sp just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Sp is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Simon's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Preston Simon dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Sp is looking to land body kicks.

Sp manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Simon on his heels. He'll look to pass Simon's guard now, I'm sure.

Simon pushes Sp off and gets back to his feet.

Simon wriggles free and stands up.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Sp takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Simon works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Simon stands up over Sp, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Sp looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Simon gets to his feet - Sp follows without any prompting.

Simon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sp, pushing him back against the cage.

Simon decides to pull guard.

Sp is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Simon has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Sp is looking to defend but Simon has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Sp! Simon pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Sp taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Preston Simon!
