Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bastian Nokia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Birdman Lugz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nokia is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lugz tries to clinch there but Nokia circles away.
Nokia is breathing heavily.

Lugz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nokia does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Nokia manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Lugz has picked Nokia up - he's going for a ride! Lugz dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Lugz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nokia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nokia wants to get back to his feet.
Nokia is staying active underneath Lugz, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Lugz might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nokia haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Lugz closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Lugz takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Nokia is staying active underneath Lugz, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lugz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nokia is just riding it out for now. Lugz eventually gives up the hold.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Lugz is keen to just control but Nokia is a slippery customer.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Nokia's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Lugz connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Nokia scrambles back to his feet.

Lugz ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Nokia out cold! The fight is over!
