The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young dives in and scores a takedown into Bastad's guard.
Young tries to free his leg and advance position but Bastad is retaining full guard.
Bastad preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Bastad looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Bastad has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Young can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Young looking to improve position, pressing down on Bastad's thigh with his hand. Bastad seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Young paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Young's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Bastad picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
