The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Barker on his heels. He'll look to pass Barker's guard now, I'm sure.

Barker throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Sanchez distracts Barker with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Barker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sanchez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Sanchez is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Sanchez is working Barker over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Sanchez keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Barker's head.

Barker could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanchez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Barker is rocked!
Sanchez loads up on a big left hand. Barker felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Sanchez looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Barker can't hide his disappointment, as Sanchez celebrates the victory.
