Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stan Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Young!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith leaves Young with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Young shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Young's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Smith scores with a nice head shot.
Young moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Young shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Stan Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Young.
Smith throws a low kick but Young avoids it.
Smith tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Young was well out of range. Poor timing from Smith.
Young closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smith circles away.
Smith tried to counter with a leg kick but Young avoided it.
A lazy left from Smith finds it's target.
Young has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Smith finds it's way round the side to connect with Young's head.
Young shoots in and drives through. Smith sprawls well.
Young takes a jab right on the kisser.
Smith connects with a nice looking jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Young shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smith pinned against the cage. Smith gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Young forces Smith back against the cage and clinches.
Young is working for takedown but Smith is calmly controlling the position for now.
Young keeps control of Smith as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Young wants a takedown but no success here.
Young looks winded!
Young manages to pull guard.
Smith stands up and waves to Young to follow him.
Joe Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Young takes one on the button.
Stan Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Smith lands with a straight right. Young didn't see that one coming.
Young is rocked!
Smith jabs Young to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Smith lands a nice hook to Young's body. Young takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Smith drops Young with a big left hand! Young is injured, injured bad! Smith jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
