Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Weston Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirk Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Weston Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Price looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Perez wants to improve his position but Price is controlling well.
Price trying to advance position but Perez counters by regaining guard.
Price gets to his feet. Perez looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Price feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Price stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Perez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Price tries to roll over but Perez keeps him under control.

Perez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

and Perez counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Perez fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Perez quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Price is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Perez scores with the left hand. Price knows he should have avoided that one.

Perez takes a swing at Price's ribcage but misses.
Price shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Perez throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Price stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Price drops back looking for a leg! Perez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Perez manages to kick Price off! Price jumps back into Perez's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Perez tries to bench press Price off him but Price keeps the position.
Perez wants to control but Price postures up.
Price grinds an elbow into Perez's temple.
Perez is looking to regain half guard here but Price keeps moving and retains side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dirk Price showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Price jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Perez walks away with a smile on his face. Price gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Price is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Perez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Price is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Perez's shoulder. That is not cool.
Price decides to stand back up.
Price takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Dirk Price seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Perez misses with a jab to the body
and Price counters with a left and a right that stings Perez.
Price tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Perez swivels and escapes.

Dirk Price is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Price goes for a double leg but Perez avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Perez continues to drive forward.
And that's the end of the fight!
Dirk Price comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
