Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Smoosh Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Toby Quail!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Alyssa Summers and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Jackson.
Smoosh Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson closes the distance but Quail moves to the side
and Quail counters with a right hand to the body.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Quail tests Jackson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Good exchange - Quail coming out on top.
Jackson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Quail cracks a nice hook into Jackson's ribs.
Jackson wants to clinch.
Jackson ducks right into an uppercut from Quail.

Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch but Quail swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Quail tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Jackson moves in looking to clinch but Quail pushes him off.

Quail moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Jackson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Quail throws a jab when Jackson was well out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Jackson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Jackson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Quail throws out the jab.
Jackson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Quail moves away.
Quail avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Quail shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jackson eats them both and turns towards Quail to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jackson is defended easily by Quail.
Nice shot lands for Quail.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Quail counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Jackson!

Quail is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Quail is trying to work for a kimura but Jackson is defending well.
Jackson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Quail's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Quail's back!

Jackson is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Quail defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Jackson seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Quail is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson keeps control of the position as Quail tries to break free.
