Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Dunc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Teijeira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kyle Dunc!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marcelo Teijeira!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Topper Green and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Teijeira has a takedown stuffed.
Dunc tries to clinch
and Teijeira counters with a two punch combo.

Dunc bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Dunc is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Teijeira is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Dunc has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Teijeira doesn't manage to clinch there - Dunc circles away.

Dunc shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dunc showed some decent athleticism there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Teijeira wants to get back to his feet.
Dunc passes the guard and advances to mount!
Dunc cracks Teijeira with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Teijeira really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dunc. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Teijeira tries to lock up and control but Dunc gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Dunc jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Teijeira is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Teijeira and Dunc has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Dunc stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Dunc fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Teijeira to the ground. Dunc is now in Teijeira's guard.
Teijeira is wriggling around but Dunc manages to pass to half guard.

Teijeira is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Teijeira wants to control but Dunc is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Dunc takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Dunc is looking for a kimura but Teijeira is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dunc to get the leverage.
Dunc perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Dunc seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Teijeira for as long as he can get away with.

Dunc closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dunc lands in his opponent's guard.

Teijeira takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Kyle Dunc overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dunc's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Dunc has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Dunc is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Teijeira has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Dunc pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Kyle Dunc dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Teijeira tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dunc manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kyle Dunc is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Dunc drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dunc works to advance to full mount. Teijeira defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Teijeira sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Dunc seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dunc connects with a nice short shot to Teijeira's temple.
Dunc lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dunc connects with a nice short shot to Teijeira's temple.

Teijeira tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Dunc manages to move to mount!

Dunc has control of Teijeira's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Teijeira regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Dunc fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Dunc lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Dunc has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
BOOM! Dunc connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Dunc get's back to his feet.
Teijeira takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Dunc leaves Teijeira with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Marcelo Teijeira has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kyle Dunc is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dunc, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
