Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Duke Unken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeah La (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Duke Unken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jeah La!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Michael Johnstone and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Unken misses with a hook

and La decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Unken's guard.
Unken keeping moving, preventing La from controlling successfully.
Unken is trying to control the position but La postures up.
Unken knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for La on the ground.
La cracks Unken with a solid left hand.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Unken lands with an uppercut that bounces La off the cage and back into range.
La misses with a wild body shot.
La avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
La uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Unken.
Duke Unken seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Unken gets caught flat footed, as La shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
La throws a big right hand that misses.
La trying to control the position from guard on top but Unken is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Unken is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst La is controlling him.
La postures up.
La cracks Unken with a solid left hand.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

La wants to pass the guard but Unken is keeping the position.

La slips nicely into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. La lands a nice short elbow.
Unken is looking to control La's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Unken avoid being mounted?
Unken on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Unken is staying active underneath La, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
La has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Unken has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. La is working away from the top position though.

Unken on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

La is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Unken has managed to free his arm - good work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
La working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeah La dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Unken bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
La throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Unken sees it coming and avoids it easily.
It looked like Unken wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
A slow jab from Unken misses its intended target.
La has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Unken throws a shot from downtown. La moves away and avoids it.
Unken connects with a single shot there.
La bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
La uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Unken.
La takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
La walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Unken throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
And La tries to counter it with a takedown but Unken pushes his down on his head and steps out.
La steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Unken.
La closes this distance looking for a takedown but Unken circles away.
La tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Unken was well out of range. Poor timing from La.
Unken misses with a looping left.
La drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Unken defends it well.
La gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Unken lands a glancing blow to the side of La's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Unken lands an overhand right.


La is rocked!
La walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Unken swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Duke Unken!
