Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mio Zioa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Maidana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zioa throws a poor cross that misses
and Maidana connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Maidana scores with a jab to the jaw.
Zioa has his takedown stuffed
letting Maidana counter with a right hand.
Lucas Maidana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zioa pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Zioa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Maidana thuds his shin into the meat of Zioa's side.

Maidana catches Zioa napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Zioa to the canvas!

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Zioa holds on and takes a little breather.
Maidana scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zioa seems to have got his legs back now.
Zioa wants to sweep here but Maidana controlling him for the moment.

Maidana throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Zioa has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Maidana postures up in Zioa's guard and throws a big left but Zioa blocks it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Zioa is on top in guard.

Zioa is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Zioa drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Maidana dives on top into guard.

Zioa is pulling down on Maidana's head to control his posture.

Zioa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maidana doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Zioa is tightening it up a little... Maidana has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Maidana reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Maidana taps out! Nice BJJ there by Zioa!
