Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lavern Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Cena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lavern Meyers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Cena!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meyers closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cena to the mat! Cena manages to get full guard.
Cena is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Meyers won't allow Cena to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meyers wants to stand but Cena is controlling his posture from full guard.
Cena is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Cena really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Meyers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Meyers trying to control the position from guard on top but Cena is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Meyers could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Meyers drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cena manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Meyers has Cena in his guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Meyers looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Meyers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Meyers wriggles free and stands up.

Cena closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cena lands in his opponent's guard.
Cena has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Meyers is proving hard to escape from.

Cena stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meyers swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Meyers has his foot on Cena's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cena works his way back into a safe position though.
Cena is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Meyers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cena can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cena wants to get up but he can't break Meyers's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Cena not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Meyers is looking to take this one to the mat.
Meyers is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Cena is defending well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Meyers wants to get up but he can't break Cena's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Let's hope that Cena has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Meyers slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Meyers trying to control the position from guard on top but Cena is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cena is looking for a triangle here but Meyers uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Meyers working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Meyers landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

Cena is trying to trip Meyers. He has hold of a leg but Meyers is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Cena persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Meyers pulls Cena in close to prevent any damage.

John Cena comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Cena winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
