The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lu misses with an uppercut.
Jackie Lu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lu fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hooper, pushing him back against the cage.
Hooper drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lu gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A short body shot lands from Lu as the two fighters clinch.
Lu on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Hooper is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lu to keep the fight standing.
Lu is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hooper is defending well.
Hooper tries to score a body lock takedown but Lu shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maynard Hooper. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lu lands an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lu presses Hooper against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Hooper is breathing heavily.

Lu throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Hooper crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
