PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jaromir Jag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gorge Jurgel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jurgel has chosen Rock N Roll Train as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 37 - 75 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jaromir Jag!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 49 - 57 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gorge Jurgel!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jag darts in and clinches Jurgel up against the cage.
Jurgel tries to pull guard but Jag won't allow it.

Jurgel gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Jag regains guard.
Jag is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jurgel tries to free his leg and advance position but Jag is retaining full guard.
Jag is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jurgel is controlling him.
We've been hearing good reports from Jag's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Jurgel sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jag's guard.
Jurgel wants to control but Jag is keeping him busy.
Jag pushes Jurgel off looking to stand but Jurgel dives back in and keeps control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jurgel shoots in looking for a takedown. Jag tries to sprawl out of it but Jurgel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jag manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jag, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
